One Xp's best improvement is being able to edit the game script which makes it possible to completly change the traditional rpg maker style game.

 

Though it is in the rpg maker family xp cannot load the old games from the previous maker because it uses different rtpe from them. The character sets can be as big as you want them though which is a good improvement, Mp3 files can be played and the graphics are better.

 

Sky-247 studios are using this maker to make a new game called Chronicles Of Humia and many other people are using it aswell to make their games.

 

The game script language is known as RGSS, Ruby Game Script System which can be hard to learn if you are new to computer languages but if you are experienced you should find it easier to learn.

 

This is probably the best rpg maker there is at the moment.

 

Rpg maker 2003 is and upgrade to 2000.They both are nearly the same but 2003's battles are viewed from the side like Golden Sun.

 

2000 is probably the most popular out of the two, probably because there is less effort needed to make a proper game though 2003 has better graphics.

 

Unlike Xp these two can play animations or films. They are also easier to make a game compared to xp. If you were new to the rpg maker series i would advise you to get 2000 first and then xp when you are used to it, because once you get used to 2000 you would probably find it easier.

 

 

This rpg maker is the first out of the series. It's graphics are not as good as the others. Not many use it now since it is out of date and the improvements for it which was put into 2000 was perfect.

 

Making games can be hard and take long but rpg maker makes it easier.
